A complete 100 watt lithium-ion compatible AC to DC conversion kit, supplying both a high output stator and an adjustable voltage regulator rectifier. The kit replaces the original AC stator with a 100W high output unit and converts the machine's alternating current system into a high power direct current charging system, giving you a stable supply for lighting, electronics and accessories that the original set-up was never designed to carry.
The stator is a brand new aftermarket unit built with the highest grade of lamination materials and the highest grade of copper winding, rated to resist 200 degrees Celsius. Connectors and a rubber grommet are supplied with it, and the opposite connector for the main harness side is included as well, because these are frequently found melted, corroded or otherwise defective and are a major cause of repeat electrical faults. The regulator rectifier is a brand new adjustable aftermarket unit requiring no assembly, built from a higher grade of electrical components, with a regulation point adjustable between 14 and 15 volts. Will this kit fit without modification?
The stator is a direct replacement for the original unit on the models and years listed above, and the connectors and harness needed to complete the conversion are supplied in the kit. No assembly of the regulator rectifier is required. Because the kit converts the machine from an AC to a DC charging system, the regulator rectifier is mounted and connected in place of the original unit using the supplied plugs.
What is included in the box?
A brand new 100W aftermarket stator with its connectors and rubber grommet, the opposite main harness side connector, a brand new adjustable aftermarket voltage regulator rectifier with its connectors, and the harness assembly.
How do I know the original stator or regulator has failed?
Common signs are a battery that will not hold charge, lights that dim or flicker, and a charging voltage that does not rise as engine speed increases. On a healthy stator the alternator resistance between the white and yellow wires measures 0.5 ohms plus or minus 20 per cent and the source resistance between white/red and black/red measures 30 ohms plus or minus 20 per cent. Melted or corroded harness connectors are also a frequent cause of repeat faults, which is why a replacement main harness side connector is supplied with this kit.
Can I run a lithium-ion battery with this kit?
Yes. The kit is lithium-ion compatible and the regulator rectifier's regulation point is adjustable between 14 and 15 volts, plus or minus 0.5 volts, so it can be set to suit the battery chemistry you are running. Maximum charging current is 50 A / 500 W and open circuit voltage stays below 15 V.
