A brand new aftermarket two position ignition key switch for Yamaha ATVs built between 2001 and 2014, covering the 250 Breeze, Big Bear, Tracker, Grizzly, Raptor, Bruin, Warrior and Wolverine. It is a direct replacement to your original unit and is plug-and-play, a direct fit and easy to install - the 38 mm barrel drops into the existing panel cut-out and the 260 mm wire tail reaches the loom without extending anything.
The switch has two positions, off and on, with two terminals, two wires and a single plug. Two keys are supplied cut to the new barrel, and the mating connector is included so a corroded or brittle plug on the machine side can be renewed at the same time. Ignition switches on working ATVs fail from water ingress and vibration rather than wear, which is why the barrel and the contacts are replaced as a complete assembly rather than repaired.

Do I need to modify anything to fit it?
No. It is a direct replacement to your original unit - plug-and-play, direct fit, easy installation. The barrel is 38 mm in diameter and 50 mm tall, matching the original, and the two-wire plug connects straight to the loom.
What is included?
The ignition key switch, two keys and the mating connector, so both halves of the plug can be renewed if the original has corroded.
How do I know the old switch has failed?
Typical symptoms are a machine that cuts out over bumps, an ignition that only works if the key is held or wiggled, dash lights that flicker as the key is turned, or nothing at all when the key is turned on while the battery is known good. A continuity check across the two terminals in the on position confirms it: no continuity, or continuity that comes and goes as the key is moved, means the switch is finished.
Will the new keys work in my other locks?
No. The switch is supplied with its own two keys cut to the new barrel, so it will not match an existing seat lock or storage lock keyed to the original ignition key. Keep the original key for those.
