A brand new aftermarket two position ignition key switch for the older Yamaha ATV range built between 1986 and 1995 - the Badger 80, Moto-4, Champ 100, Breeze 125, Big Bear and Warrior 350. It is a direct replacement to your original unit, plug-and-play, a direct fit and easy to install: the 38 mm barrel drops into the existing panel cut-out and the 260 mm wire tail reaches the loom without splicing in extra cable.
The switch has two positions, off and on, with four wires running to four terminals through a single plug. Two keys are supplied cut to the new barrel, and the mating connector is included so a plug that has gone green or brittle after thirty years can be renewed at the same time. On machines of this age the switch is usually the cause of an intermittent ignition rather than the wiring behind it. All product shipped are tested.

How do I know my old switch has failed?
On these older machines the tell-tales are an engine that dies over bumps, an ignition that works only when the key is pressed in or held at an angle, or a completely dead machine with a good battery. Check continuity across the terminals with the key in the on position - if it is absent or comes and goes as the key is moved, the internal contacts have corroded.
My original has a different Yamaha number stamped on it - is this still correct?
Check the cross reference table above. Yamaha used eight numbers across the 1UY, 2FJ and 59V families for this switch during the 1986 to 1995 run, and if yours is one of them this is the correct replacement.
