This is a brand new aftermarket two position ignition key switch, supplied as a direct replacement for the original Yamaha unit. It covers a long run of machines, from the YFM 400 Big Bear utility quad through to the YFM 700 Raptor and the YFZ 450R sport models, across the 2002 to 2024 span. The switch has two positions, off and on, with two wires running to a single plug.
Installation is plug-and-play and needs no changes to the harness. The barrel goes into the original mounting position and the supplied connector mates with the existing loom, so there is no splicing, no soldering and no drilling. The wire lead is 300 mm long and two keys are supplied with the switch. On an ATV the ignition switch lives a hard life - washed down, vibrated and occasionally submerged - so an intermittent electrical fault that follows the key rather than the battery usually ends here.
