This is a brand new aftermarket 3-position ignition key switch, supplied as a direct replacement for the original unit fitted to the Can-Am Outlander 330 and 400, the Outlander Max 400 and the Rally 175. It is a plug-and-play, direct fit part: it mounts in the original location and mates with the machine's existing plug, so no cutting, splicing or modification of the wiring loom is needed. Two keys are supplied with every switch and the connectors are included.
The switch works over three positions - off, on, and a spring-return start position that springs back to on as soon as the key is released. The body measures 57 mm high by 46 mm long, and the width steps between 40 mm and 31 mm. It connects through a single plug. It replaces Can-Am part numbers 710001030, 710001029, 710000238 and 710007867. Every unit is tested before it is shipped.

How do I know my old key switch has failed?
Common signs are a quad that will not power up when the key is turned to on, power that drops out when the key or the wiring behind the switch is disturbed, a start position that no longer cranks the engine, a barrel that spins without engaging a detent, or corroded and heat-damaged terminals at the plug. A continuity check across the terminals in each of the three positions will show whether the switch itself is passing current.
Why is the width listed as two measurements?
The switch body is not a plain square. It measures 40 mm across at its widest point and steps in to 31 mm, which is why both figures are given. Compare both against your original unit before ordering.
