Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know the CDI is at fault and not the coil?
Check for spark with a tester, then measure the ignition coil primary and secondary resistance and the pickup coil output. If coil and pickup test within specification and there is still no spark, the CDI is the usual cause.
Is this unit region specific?
Ignition curves differ between market versions. Match the OE number on your existing unit against the cross-reference table before ordering.
Is it a plug-in fit?
Yes - it uses the original connector and mounting on the models listed. No rewiring is needed.
What kills a CDI box?
Heat, vibration and voltage spikes from a failing regulator or a loose battery connection. Fix the underlying charging fault or the replacement can fail the same way.
