3-Position Ignition Key Switch for Kawasaki Mule Pro & Teryx
KAF 820 and KAF 1000 Mule Pro, KRF 750 and KRT 800 Teryx, 2008-2023 - part number RMS110-104988
A brand new aftermarket three-position ignition key switch built as a direct replacement for the original unit fitted to the Kawasaki Mule Pro and Teryx side-by-side range. It is a plug-and-play, direct-fit part: the six-wire tail carries a single factory-pattern plug on 270 mm of lead, so it connects to the standard harness exactly as the original did, with no cutting, splicing or adaptor needed.
The switch gives three positions - off, on, and a spring-return start position - so it handles both the ignition feed and the starter signal from one barrel. On a working machine this is one of the highest-duty switches on the vehicle, and years of dust, pressure washing and vibration eventually wear the contact block behind the barrel. The result is usually a machine that cranks intermittently, an engine that dies when the key is released back from start, or a key that turns with no resistance and does nothing. Replacing the assembly restores clean, positive switching in one job. Two keys and the matching connectors are supplied, and every unit is tested before it is shipped.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to modify anything to fit it?
No. This is a direct-fit, plug-and-play part. It uses the same six-wire layout and the same single plug as the original Kawasaki switch, on a 270 mm lead, so it joins the standard harness without cutting or splicing.
What is included?
The switch assembly with its 270 mm six-wire tail and connectors, plus two keys. Every unit is tested before it leaves the warehouse.
How do I know the old switch has failed?
Look for a machine that will not crank with the key held at start, an engine that cuts as soon as the key springs back from start to on, ignition that drops out over rough ground or when the loom is disturbed, and a barrel that turns loosely with no clear detent between positions. If the fault comes and goes when the switch or its plug is moved, the switch is the likely cause.
What does the third position do?
The third position is a spring-return start position. Turning the key past on energises the starter circuit, and the barrel springs back to on when you release it. That is why this switch carries six wires rather than the four found on a simple two-position off/on switch.
