This is a brand new aftermarket three position ignition key switch for the Suzuki LTA and LTF range, covering the 400, 450, 500 and 750 KingQuad and Eiger models from 2002 to 2024. It is a direct replacement for the original unit and installs plug and play into the existing loom, with a single plug carrying five wires on a 450 mm tail. Two keys and the mating connector are supplied with it.
The ignition switch is the part that takes the most abuse on a working quad. It sits out in the weather, it gets pressure washed, and over the years the contacts corrode and the barrel wears. The usual symptoms are a machine that will not crank until you jiggle the key, a dash that flickers or dies over bumps, accessories that cut out, or a key that turns freely without doing anything at all. This switch has three positions - off, accessories and on - matching the original layout, so the behaviour of the machine is unchanged after fitting. Every unit is tested before it is shipped. Because a fresh connector is supplied as well, you can replace the loom side plug at the same time if the original one is melted or green with corrosion, which is a common finding on machines of this age.

Does it fit without modification?
Yes. It is a plug-and-play direct fit for the original switch, with one plug, five wires and a 450 mm tail, so it drops into the standard mounting and connects to the existing loom without cutting or splicing.
What is included?
The three position ignition key switch, two keys, and the mating connector. Because the connector is supplied you can renew the loom side plug at the same time if the original is corroded or heat damaged.
How do I know the old key switch has failed?
Classic signs are having to wiggle or hold the key in a particular spot before anything powers up, a dash that flickers or drops out over rough ground, accessories that cut in and out, or a key that turns through its positions with no response at all. Corroded contacts inside the switch and green or melted pins in the plug are the usual cause.
Will the new keys work on my existing locks?
No. The two keys supplied are cut to this new switch, so they will not match any other lock on the machine, such as a fuel cap or storage lock. Keep the original key for those.
