This is a brand new aftermarket four position ignition key switch supplied as a direct replacement for the original Polaris unit. The four positions are off, on, accessories and a spring return start, so the switch handles the accessory circuit as well as ignition and cranking. Two keys are included and every unit is tested before it is dispatched.
Fitting is plug-and-play. The barrel drops into the original mounting hole and the six terminal plug mates with the existing loom connector, so there is no cutting, splicing or drilling. Please read the note below carefully before ordering: Polaris built both three position and four position key switches, and they are not interchangeable. The three position switch has off, on and a spring return start. The four position switch adds a lights or accessories position between off and on. Count the detents on your original barrel, or look at the plug, before you choose.

How do I tell a 3-position switch from a 4-position switch?
Polaris manufactures both. The three position switch gives you off, on and a spring return start. The four position switch adds a lights on position. Turn your original key slowly and count the detents before the spring loaded start position, and check the OEM number stamped on the old unit against the cross reference table above.
What is included in the box?
You receive the ignition key switch unit and two keys. Every unit is tested before it is shipped.
How do I know my old ignition switch has failed?
Common signs are no power when the key is turned on, accessories that work but no crank, power that flickers when the key or the loom is moved, or the machine cutting out over rough ground. A barrel that has become sloppy and lets the key spin past its detents is another clear sign. Check the battery and main fuse first, then the switch.
