This alternator is a direct OEM-fit replacement for the Caterpillar mini excavator range, covering the 301.5, 301.6, 301.8, 302.5, 303.5 and 304.5 machines built from 1998 onwards, as well as the Caterpillar 232 and 902. It is built to a 12 volt, 55 amp specification with clockwise rotation and a single V-belt pulley to match the original factory fitment.
The unit is internally regulated (IR) with an internal fan (IF) and uses the original P-IG-L plug connector, so no wiring changes are required. It replaces Caterpillar 0R9698 and 144-9952 and the Denso 101211-2780 unit fitted to the Cat 3003 and 3013 engines. Because several similar alternators were used across this equipment range, it is worth confirming the amperage and pulley against your original unit before fitting.
