This is a permanent magnet alternator built as a direct replacement for a wide range of Kubota compact tractors, mini excavators, mowers and the RTV500 utility vehicle, covering machines built from 1981 to 2009 with 8HP to 30HP diesel engines. It is manufactured to OEM specifications for fit and function, rated at 12 volts with a 14 amp output, and bolts straight into place using the original mounting points.
Unlike a conventional wound-field alternator, a permanent magnet design uses fixed magnets on the rotor rather than field windings, which keeps the unit compact and reduces internal wear points. It replaces Kubota 15531-64013, 15531-64016, 15531-64017, 6C040-59250 and EG673-64010 among others. This unit may use regulator part number 516258 or 516249 - please check your existing regulator before ordering to confirm which one your machine uses.
