Generator Stator for Arctic Cat Alterra, TRV, XC and XR

Fits Arctic Cat 350, 366, 400, 425, 450 and 500 models, 2008 to 2024 - Part RM01285

This is a brand new generator stator covering a wide span of mid-capacity Arctic Cat machines built between 2008 and 2024 - the 350, 366, 400, 425, 450 and 500 engines as fitted to the Alterra and TRV 400, 450 and 500, the XC 450 and the XR 500. It is a direct replacement for the original unit and installs plug-and-play, with the pick-up pulsar coil, the connector and the rubber grommet all supplied and pre-fitted.

This is a seven-wire stator rather than the more common five-wire type, because it carries a position sensor winding in addition to the alternator windings and the pick-up coil. That third winding is worth knowing about when you diagnose a fault: a machine can lose the position sensor circuit and run badly or refuse to start while the charging side still tests perfectly, so all three resistance readings in the table below need to be checked before you condemn or clear the unit. Charging faults present in the usual way - a battery that drains between rides, lights that pulse with the throttle, a machine that will start on a jump but not on its own. The replacement is built on the highest grade lamination materials and wound with the highest grade copper, insulated to withstand 200 degrees Celsius, and every unit is tested before it is shipped.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this fit without modification?

Yes. It is a plug-and-play direct fit for the listed Arctic Cat models. The 54 mm bore, the 114 mm outer diameter and the two factory connectors match the original, so no cutting or splicing is required. Because this range spans many model variants, confirm that the number on your existing unit reads 3323-200 or 0802-056 before ordering.

What is included in the box?

The generator stator unit, the pick-up pulsar coil, the connector and the rubber grommet.

How do I know my old stator has failed?

Measure all three circuits with a multimeter on ohms. Black to black should read about 0.4 ohms across each alternator pair, blue to green about 185 ohms for the pick-up, and white to yellow about 0.2 ohms for the position sensor, all plus or minus 20 per cent. An open circuit on any one of the three, or continuity between any wire and the stator body, means the unit needs replacing.

Why does this stator have seven wires when others have five?

In addition to the three alternator phases and the two pick-up wires, this unit carries a two-wire position sensor winding. That extra circuit is what makes the wire count seven and the pin count seven, and it must be tested separately - the position sensor can fail on its own while the charging windings remain healthy.
