This is a brand new stator for the Can-Am DS 70 and DS 90 X, supplied as a direct replacement to your original unit. It installs plug-and-play, seating on the original mounting behind the flywheel and connecting to the existing harness with no cutting or splicing needed. It replaces OEM part number V31100CJF010. Part number RM01288.
The assembly comes complete with the pickup pulsar coil fitted, plus the connector and the rubber grommet, so the charging winding and the ignition trigger are renewed together in a single job. It is built on the highest grade lamination materials with copper windings rated to 200 degrees Celsius. The stator measures 82 mm across the exterior diameter with a 28 mm interior diameter and a 9 mm thickness. Five wires run 90 mm from the stator to the grommet and a further 550 mm from the grommet to the plugs, across two plugs and five pins, with the pickup coil lead 90 mm long. The alternator winding reads 0.4 ohms +/- 20 per cent yellow to white, the pickup coil reads 115 ohms +/- 20 per cent blue to green, and the source coil reads 593 ohms +/- 20 per cent green to black. All products are tested before delivery.

Will this fit without modification?

What is included?
You receive the stator assembly, the pickup pulsar coil, the connector and the rubber grommet. The pickup coil is already fitted to the assembly, so there is nothing to transfer from the old unit.
How do I know my old stator has failed?
Measure the three circuits with a multimeter. The alternator winding should read 0.4 ohms +/- 20 per cent yellow to white, the pickup coil 115 ohms +/- 20 per cent blue to green, and the source coil 593 ohms +/- 20 per cent green to black. An open circuit, a short to the core, or a reading well outside any of those bands means the stator has failed.
Why does this stator have a source coil as well?
On these small Can-Am machines the same assembly carries the charging winding, the pickup pulsar coil that triggers the ignition, and a separate source coil that feeds it, which is why there are three separate resistance readings and five wires across two plugs.
