PeakRPM CDI Box for Polaris Predator 500
Polaris Predator 500 - 2003-2004 - OEM replacement 3088052 - Part number RMS030-104564
This is a brand new aftermarket PeakRPM CDI box for the Polaris Predator 500, built as a direct replacement for the original ignition control unit and supplied tested. The CDI box is the brain of a capacitor discharge ignition system: it stores the charge coming from the stator and releases it to the ignition coil at exactly the right moment, which is what determines whether the engine starts cleanly, idles evenly and pulls properly through the rev range. When it starts to break down, the symptoms are usually intermittent rather than absolute - a machine that fires up cold and then cuts out hot, or one that misfires under load.
The unit uses a plug-and-play OEM design, so it drops into the original mounting position and connects through the existing eight pin plug with no cutting or splicing of the loom. OEM-grade electronic components and printed circuit boards are used throughout for long-term reliability, and dielectric connector grease is supplied in the box so the plug can be sealed against moisture and corrosion on fitting. Please note that the wire colouring on this unit may differ from the original, but the wire ordering within the connector is correct, so it plugs straight in as it comes.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will this fit without modification?
Yes. This is a plug-and-play OEM design that uses the original mounting position and the original single 8-pin connector, so no cutting, splicing or rewiring is needed. Before ordering, check your original unit against the dimensions listed above - 75 mm high, 75 mm long, 70 mm wide, with 85 mm between the mounting hole centres - and against OEM number 3088052.
The wire colours do not match my original. Is that a problem?
No. This CDI may use different wire colouring from the original unit, but the ordering of the wires within the connector is correct. The plug only goes in one way and the pins line up with the original, so it fits directly without any rewiring. Match the connector body, not the colours.
What is included?
The CDI box itself plus a sachet of dielectric connector grease. Applying the grease to the connector on fitting keeps water out of the plug and slows the corrosion that causes intermittent ignition faults on machines used in wet or muddy conditions.
How do I know the old CDI has failed?
A failing CDI box usually shows itself intermittently rather than all at once. Common signs are an engine that will not start despite a good battery, spark plug and coil, a machine that runs until it warms up and then cuts out, a persistent misfire or hesitation under load, or a rev limit that appears far lower than normal. Because these symptoms overlap with stator, coil and connector faults, check the wiring and the plug condition before condemning the unit.
