This is a brand new portable 3-1/2 digit digital multimeter. It measures DC and AC voltage, DC current, resistance, diodes and transistors, and it has an audible continuity test. Three AAA batteries and two fuses are included, so it works the moment it comes out of the box. Every unit is tested before it is shipped.
Almost every electrical fault on an ATV, UTV, snowmobile, motorcycle or boat is diagnosed with a meter before a single part is bought. This one covers the jobs that matter: checking resting and charging voltage at the battery to tell a flat battery from a dead regulator, measuring stator winding resistance and checking for continuity to earth, buzzing out a suspect length of loom, confirming a fuse or a switch actually passes current, and testing diodes in a rectifier pack. The audible continuity setting in particular saves a great deal of time on wiring work, because you can trace a circuit without taking your eyes off the probes. It is made with the highest quality materials and offers very high accuracy, and the 700 mm leads give enough reach to work from the battery to the far side of an engine bay.

Do I need anything else to start using it?
No. The three AAA batteries it runs on are included, the test leads are supplied, and two spare fuses come with it. It is ready to use as soon as you unpack it.
What is included?

Can I use it to test a stator or a regulator rectifier?
Yes, and those are two of the jobs it is most useful for. Use the resistance range to check stator winding resistance against the figures in your service manual and to check for continuity between a winding and the stator body, use the DC voltage range at the battery with the engine running to see whether the regulator is charging, and use the diode setting to test the rectifier diodes.
What voltage can it safely handle?
The maximum voltage from the terminals to ground is 600 V, and the current input is protected by a 200 A / 250 V fuse. Stay inside that limit, select the correct range before you connect the probes, and never leave the meter on a current range when measuring voltage.
