External Ignition Coil - RM06025
Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Can-Am and Yamaha ATV, motorcycle and scooter applications 1981-2024
This is a brand new aftermarket external ignition coil, built as a direct replacement for your original unit. The ignition coil is the component that steps up the low voltage from the ignition system into the high voltage needed to jump the spark plug gap, so when it starts to break down the engine will misfire, run erratically or refuse to start at all. Rather than hunting for a used coil of unknown age, this unit gives you a new part with a known history.
Installation is straightforward. The coil is supplied without spark plug caps, so you reinstall the OEM caps from your original coil onto the new unit. Once the caps are transferred it is a plug-and-play unit, a direct fit and easy to install with no modification to the loom or the mounting points. Every coil is tested before it is shipped, and the part cross-references to a very large list of Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Can-Am and Yamaha original equipment numbers covering ATV, motorcycle and scooter models built between 1981 and 2024.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will this coil fit without modification?
Yes. It is a direct replacement for the original unit and mounts and connects in the same way, so no cutting, drilling or rewiring is needed. The only step is reinstalling your OEM spark plug caps onto the new coil, after which it is plug-and-play. Because this coil covers a very wide range of machines, please confirm the OEM number stamped on your original coil against the cross reference table above before ordering.
What is included?
You receive the brand new external ignition coil itself. Spark plug caps are not supplied - the OEM caps from your original coil are transferred across during fitting.
How do I know my ignition coil has failed?
A failing ignition coil typically shows up as a weak or intermittent spark, misfiring under load, hard starting when the engine is hot, or no spark at all. Because the coil sits between the ignition source and the plug, these symptoms are often mistaken for fuel problems. Comparing the coil against a known good unit, or replacing it with a new one, is the usual way to confirm the diagnosis.
Is the coil tested before it is sent out?
Yes. All products shipped are tested, so the coil you receive has been checked before it leaves the warehouse.
