This is a brand new aftermarket external ignition coil supplied complete with its spark plug cap, as a direct replacement for the original unit fitted to the Suzuki DRZ 400 and the LTZ 400 Quadsport. It is a plug-and-play, direct fit part: the coil mounts on the original bracket using the existing fixing holes and connects to the machine's existing wiring, so no cutting, splicing or modification of the loom is needed. The spark plug cap is included with the coil.
The coil body measures 66 mm long by 46 mm wide by 38 mm high, with 55 mm between the centres of the two fixing holes and a 180 mm wire lead. Primary resistance is 0.9 ohms, secondary resistance measures 6.6k ohms without the cap and 16.9k ohms with the cap fitted - useful reference figures when testing your existing coil. It replaces Suzuki coil part number 33410-09F00 and spark plug cap numbers 33510-48B10, 33510-27A11 and 33510-05C00. Every unit is tested before it is shipped.

How do I know my old ignition coil has failed?
A failing coil usually shows as a weak or intermittent spark, hard starting, misfiring and hesitation under load, or a bike that cuts out once the engine is hot. The reliable check is with a multimeter: measure the primary and secondary resistance and compare against the 0.9 ohms primary and 6.6k ohms secondary without the cap listed above. Readings that are open circuit or well away from those values point to a failed coil.
Why are two secondary resistance figures given?
The spark plug cap contains its own resistor, so it adds to the reading. Measured at the coil lead alone the secondary is 6.6k ohms; measured through the fitted cap it reads 16.9k ohms. Use whichever figure matches how you are testing.
