The RM01269 is a brand new aftermarket generator stator for the Arctic Cat 650 V-2 FIS and 650 V-Twin FIS Auto 4x4 built between 2004 and 2006. It is a direct replacement for the original charging coil and cross references to Arctic Cat part number 3201-182.
Installation is plug-and-play and direct fit, using the standard mounting points and the original single three-pin connector, so no cutting, drilling or splicing is needed. The stator is built on the highest grade lamination material and wound with the highest grade copper, resistant to 200 degrees Celsius, and carries a long 935 mm harness from the grommet to the plug. The connector and the rubber grommet are included, along with the opposite connector for the main harness side, since the original is frequently melted, corroded or defective and is a major cause of repeat electrical faults. How do I test my old stator?
Unplug the stator and measure across the three Yellow wires with a multimeter. A healthy winding reads about 0.4 ohms between each pair of Yellow wires, within 20 percent. Then check each Yellow wire to ground, which should show no continuity. An open circuit between phases, a short to ground, or a battery that will not charge while the engine runs all point to a failed stator.
Is the harness long enough to route as standard?
Yes. The RM01269 has 130 mm of wire from the stator to the grommet and a further 935 mm from the grommet to the plug, matching the original routing on the 650 V-Twin so the loom can be clipped back in its factory path without extending or shortening it.
