RM01338 is a brand new aftermarket generator stator built as a direct replacement for the original unit fitted to Can-Am Traxter 500 and 650 cc utility quads produced between 1999 and 2005, covering the Traxter, Traxter XT, Traxter Max and Traxter XL. It is a plug-and-play, direct-fit part, so it mounts in the original position and joins the existing loom through the supplied connector without cutting, splicing or any other modification to the machine.
The pickup pulsar coil is integrated into this assembly, so the charging output and the ignition trigger side of the magneto are both renewed in a single job rather than left as a second failure waiting to happen. Does this need any modification to fit?

How do I confirm my old stator has failed?
Measure it cold with a multimeter. Alternator output should read roughly 0.4 ohms between each pair of yellow wires and the pickup should read around 245 ohms from blue to white, both within 20 per cent. Any yellow wire showing continuity to ground, or an open circuit reading where a resistance is expected, indicates a failed winding.
Will it fit the Traxter Max and XL as well as the standard model?
Yes. The same stator covers the Traxter, Traxter XT, Traxter Max and Traxter XL in 500 and 650 cc form for the 1999 to 2005 model years. Cross-check the OEM number 420296321 against the part you are removing if you are unsure of your machine's exact specification.
