How do I tell whether my old stator has failed?

Measured with a multimeter, resistance between any two of the three yellow wires should be approximately 0.4 ohms with a 20 percent tolerance. Open circuit, short circuit, a reading well outside that figure, or continuity between a yellow wire and the stator body all indicate a failed stator.
