Generator Stator for Honda CBR 954
Honda CBR 954 - 2002-2003 - Replaces 31120-MCJ-751 - Part RM01139
This is a brand new aftermarket generator stator for the Honda CBR 954 of 2002 and 2003, built as a plug-and-play direct replacement for Honda part number 31120-MCJ-751. It fits in the original position behind the engine case cover and connects to the existing loom, so no modification to the bike is required.
The unit is made with higher-grade electric components than the original and wound with copper windings rated to 200 degrees Celsius. That heat rating matters on this engine, because the stator runs immersed in hot oil and it is the winding insulation that gives way first, taking the charging output with it. The stator measures 115 mm on the exterior diameter with a 42 mm interior diameter and a 23 mm thickness, and carries three wires over a 650 mm run from the stator to the end of the lead into a three-pin connection.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will this stator fit without modification?
Yes. It is a plug-and-play direct replacement for the original unit on the 2002 and 2003 CBR 954 and it mounts in the original position, so the bike does not need to be altered. Check that the number on your existing unit is 31120-MCJ-751 before ordering.
What is included?
The stator assembly with its connector already fitted, plus the opposite connector for the main harness side. The original grommet is reused when the new stator is installed.
How do I tell whether my old stator has failed?
A failing stator on this model shows up as a battery that will not hold its charge, dim or flickering lights and, eventually, a bike that will not restart. Confirm it with a meter: measure between the yellow wires and compare against the 0.3 ohms +/-20% figure above. A reading well outside that tolerance, an open circuit, or continuity between a yellow wire and the stator body all point to a failed winding.
Should I check anything else while the cover is off?
It is worth inspecting the regulator rectifier and its connector at the same time. A regulator that has failed short can take the new stator with it, and burnt or discoloured connector pins on the charging circuit are a common cause of repeat failures.
