Generator Stator for Suzuki GS Series
Suzuki GS 250 to GS 750, 1977-2000 - RMSTATOR RM01080
This is a brand new stator for the Suzuki GS series, covering the GS 250, 300, 400, 425, 450, 500, 550, 650 and 750 across model years 1977 to 2000. It is a direct replacement for the original unit, so installation is plug-and-play and direct fit: the stator mounts in the standard generator cover using the standard fixings, and the three White output wires connect to the standard regulator/rectifier harness without any rewiring. It cross-references ten Suzuki part numbers in the 31400 and 31401 series, which is why one unit covers such a wide span of models and years.
The unit is built on the highest grade lamination materials and wound with the highest grade copper winding, insulated to resist 200 degrees Celsius. This is the single most useful improvement over an original component on a machine of this age, because GS stators do not usually fail through broken copper - they fail because decades of heat cycling break down the winding insulation until a phase shorts to the laminated core, leaving the bike running on the battery until it goes flat. RMSTATOR also include the opposite connector for the main harness side, since these connectors are commonly found melted or corroded on older machines and a high-resistance joint there will heat up under charging load and can damage a new stator. The stator-side connector and rubber grommet are included as well. All products shipped are tested.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this fit without any modification?
Yes. It is a direct replacement for the original unit and installation is plug-and-play and direct fit, using the standard mounting points, the standard wiring route and the standard connectors. No cutting, splicing or drilling is required.
What is included in the box?
You receive the stator, the connector including the main harness side connector, and the rubber grommet.
How do I confirm my old stator has failed?
Unplug the stator and measure between each pair of the three White wires with a multimeter. All three readings should be 0.4 ohms +/-20% and should match one another closely. Then check each White wire against the engine casing or stator body, which must read open circuit. A phase reading open, a phase reading much lower than the other two, or any continuity to earth all confirm a failed stator.
How can one stator cover so many GS models?
Suzuki used a common generator design across the GS range for many years, changing the part number for detail revisions rather than for a fundamentally different component. This unit cross-references ten of those Suzuki numbers in the 31400 and 31401 series. If you want to confirm before ordering, compare your existing stator against the dimensions in the specification table - 34 mm interior diameter, 93 mm exterior diameter and 13 mm thick - and check your part number against the cross-reference list.
