This is a brand new aftermarket generator stator built as a direct replacement for the original unit fitted to the Suzuki GS series of air-cooled fours. It is a plug-and-play, direct fit component, so the charging system can be brought back to full health without cutting, splicing or re-routing the loom. Every unit is tested before it leaves the warehouse, and the correct connector and rubber grommet are supplied in the box so the job can be completed in a single session.

Construction uses the highest grade lamination materials and the highest grade copper windings, rated to withstand 200 degrees Celsius. That temperature rating matters on a machine of this age, because the stator sits in hot engine oil and heat soak is the single most common reason an original winding fails. The three white output wires each read approximately 0.4 ohms to one another, which makes it straightforward to confirm the unit is healthy with a basic multimeter before and after fitting.

The manufacturer also supplies the opposite connector for the main harness side. Original connectors on these bikes are very often melted, corroded or otherwise defective, and a tired connector is a major cause of repetitive electrical faults - so replacing both halves at the same time is strongly recommended rather than reusing a discoloured original.

How can I tell that my old stator has failed?

Measure the resistance between each pair of white wires. A healthy unit reads approximately 0.4 ohms between each white wire, within a tolerance of plus or minus 20 percent. A reading that is open circuit, close to zero, or wildly outside that figure indicates a failed winding. Any continuity from a white wire to the engine casing also points to a short to ground.

Why is a second connector supplied?

The connector on the main harness side is often melted, corroded or defective on machines of this age and is a major cause of repetitive electrical issues. Replacing both halves of the connection at once removes that fault path rather than leaving a known weak point in circuit.
