Generator Stator for Suzuki SV 650 and SV 650 S
Suzuki SV 650 and SV 650 S 1999-2002 - Part RM01569
This is a brand new aftermarket generator stator built as a direct replacement for the original unit fitted to the first generation Suzuki SV 650 and SV 650 S. It is a plug-and-play, direct fit part: it uses the original mounting points and the original connectors, so the loom does not need to be cut, spliced or modified in any way. The pick-up pulsar coil, both connectors and the rubber grommet are supplied with the stator, which means the parts that normally suffer alongside a failed winding are replaced at the same time rather than being carried over from the old assembly.
The stator generates the AC current that the regulator rectifier converts into the DC current the battery and the rest of the electrics run on, and it also carries the pick-up coil that tells the ignition where the crank is. A stator that has broken down internally typically shows up as a battery that will not hold its charge, dim or flickering lights, a machine that runs worse the further you ride it, or an intermittent misfire when the pick-up circuit is the part that has gone. This unit is wound with high grade lamination material and copper rated to a 200 degree Celsius working temperature, and every unit is tested before it is shipped.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to modify anything to fit this stator?
No. It is a direct fit, plug-and-play replacement using the original mounting points and the original connectors, so no cutting or splicing of the loom is needed. Check that your machine appears in the fitment table and that the number on your old unit matches one of the OEM references listed above.
What is included in the box?
The stator with its pick-up pulsar coil already fitted, the connector on the unit, a second connector for the main harness side, and the rubber grommet.
How do I tell whether my old stator has failed?
A flat or steadily weakening battery, dim or flickering lights and a bike that runs worse the longer it is used are the classic signs. Confirm it with a multimeter: the alternator winding should read about 0.7 ohms yellow to yellow and the pick-up about 195 ohms green to white, both within 20 per cent. An open circuit, a short to the case, or a reading well outside those figures means the winding has gone.
Why does this stator come with a second connector?
The matching half for the main harness side is supplied as well, because the original plug on a bike of this age is often heat damaged or corroded. Fitting the fresh pair means the new stator is not connected through a worn plug, which is a common cause of repeat charging faults.
