This is a brand new aftermarket generator stator, built as a direct replacement to your original unit on the Yamaha FJR 1300 sports tourer. It is a plug-and-play, direct fit part with easy installation: the connector and the rubber grommet are supplied with it, so the assembly seats in the case and plugs into the standard harness exactly as the original did, with no splicing, no re-pinning and no changes to the loom.
The stator is manufactured on the highest grade lamination materials and wound with the highest grade copper windings, which are resistant to 200 degrees Celsius. That rating matters a great deal on the FJR, a big, heavily faired touring machine whose charging system runs hard for hours at a time and often carries the extra load of heated grips, auxiliary lighting and electronic luggage. Every unit is tested before it is shipped. A failing original stator will usually show as a battery that goes flat on a long run, a charging voltage that never rises above resting voltage, dimming or pulsing lights, or a bike that will restart only after a jump.

Does this stator need any modification to fit?
No. It is a plug-and-play, direct fit replacement for the original unit and is supplied with the correct three-pin connector and rubber grommet, so it goes into the standard FJR 1300 wiring as it comes.
What is included in the box?

How do I tell whether my original stator has failed?
Unplug the stator and measure between each pair of the three white alternator wires: each pair should read about 0.5 ohms, plus or minus 20 per cent. Check each wire to the engine case as well, which must be open circuit. An open winding, a short to earth, or resistance well away from 0.5 ohms confirms a failed stator rather than a failed regulator rectifier.
Why does the fitment list skip 2006 to 2012?
This stator is listed for the 2003 to 2005 FJR 1300 and again for the 2013 to 2024 machines. Yamaha used a different charging unit in between, so if your bike falls in that gap this is not the correct part. Check the number stamped on your original unit against 5JW-81410-00-00, 5JW-81410-10-00 or 1MC-81410-00-00 before ordering.
