This is a brand new generator stator for the Can-Am Spyder Roadster 990, supplied as a direct replacement for the original charging system stator. It is plug-and-play and direct fit: the 115 mm outer diameter, the 140 mm lead from the stator to the grommet and the 780 mm run from the grommet to a single three-pin plug all follow the factory part, so the unit goes back into the standard routing with no drilling, cutting or harness modification.
A Spyder asks a great deal of its charging circuit - three-wheel machines carry more lighting, more electronics and, in many cases, more accessories than a comparable motorcycle - so the winding matters. This stator uses the highest grade of lamination material and the highest grade of copper winding, resistant to 200 degrees Celsius, with the connector and rubber grommet supplied so the loom can be sealed properly on reassembly. Every unit is tested before it is shipped, and the product photographs show the actual part, so it can be compared directly against the original before fitting.

How can I tell that the old stator has failed?
The common signs are a battery that will not hold charge, lights that dim or brighten oddly with engine speed, and a machine that runs only until the battery is exhausted. Test it with a meter: this stator should read about 0.5 ohms between each pair of yellow output wires, and any yellow wire to ground should read open circuit. A shorted or open winding, or continuity to ground, confirms the failure.
