Generator Stator for Honda TRX 400 Rancher - RM01398
Honda TRX 400 Rancher 2004 to 2007 - OEM Repl. 31120-HN7-000 / 31120-HN7-003
RM01398 is a brand new generator stator supplied as a direct replacement for the original unit fitted to the Honda TRX 400 Rancher from 2004 to 2007. It is a plug-and-play, direct-fit assembly: the core mounts in the standard position and the five wires terminate in a single five-pin plug that mates with the machine's existing loom, so the job needs no cutting, splicing or rewiring.
The stator carries both the alternator windings on the yellow wires and the green source coil circuit, and published resistance figures are given below for both so the unit can be verified with a multimeter rather than guessed at. Construction uses the highest grade lamination materials with highest grade copper windings resistant to 200 degrees Celsius - the winding varnish giving up under repeated heat cycling is the usual reason an original Rancher stator stops charging. Connector and rubber grommet are supplied, and RMSTATOR also include the opposite connector for the main harness side, so a plug that has corroded or melted over the years can be renewed at the same time. All products shipped are tested.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is any modification required to fit it?
No. This is a direct replacement designed for plug-and-play installation. It mounts in the original position and the five-pin plug connects to the existing loom, so no cutting or splicing is needed.
What is included?
The stator, the connector, the rubber grommet and the opposite connector for the main harness side.
How do I confirm the old stator has failed?
Test it cold with a multimeter. The yellow alternator wires should read about 0.4 ohms between each other and the green source coil about 0.2 ohms to ground, both within 20 per cent. A yellow wire that shows continuity to the stator core, or a circuit reading open, points to a failed winding rather than a bad regulator.
Why is a second connector supplied?
The main harness side plug on machines of this age is often found corroded or heat damaged. Supplying the opposite connector means both halves of the joint can be replaced together, which is frequently what actually clears an intermittent charging fault.
