This is a brand new aftermarket generator stator, part number RM01527, built as a direct replacement for the original unit fitted to the Kawasaki Jet Ski STS 900, STX 900 and STX 1100 from 1999 to 2006. It replaces Kawasaki OEM number 21003-3736. The assembly is plug-and-play and a direct fit, so it drops onto the original mounting points and reconnects to the standard loom through the same three plugs, with no cutting, splicing or drilling required anywhere on the craft.
The unit is built on the highest grade lamination stack and wound with the highest grade copper, and the winding insulation is rated to withstand 200 degrees Celsius. That rating is what keeps a stator alive inside a sealed magneto cover on a marine two stroke, where there is almost no airflow and the case runs hot for the whole time the engine is running. Note the unusually long lead from the grommet to the plug at 1,270 mm, which is what allows the loom to route the full way back to the electrical box on these hulls. The pickup pulsar coil, the connector and the rubber grommet are all supplied with the stator, and every unit is tested before it is shipped.

How do I know my old stator has failed?
Check it cold with a multimeter. Brown to brown across the alternator winding should read about 1.2 ohms and green to blue on the pickup about 523 ohms, both within 20%. An open circuit, a near zero reading, or continuity between any winding and the stator core means the unit has failed. The usual signs on the water are a battery that will not hold charge, an intermittent or absent spark, and an engine that becomes hard to restart once it is hot.
