High Output Generator Stator for Kawasaki KLR 650
Kawasaki KLR 650 2011-2018 - Part RMS010-107602
This is an aftermarket replacement generator stator for the Kawasaki KLR 650 that gives 20 percent more output over stock and works with all other OEM components. Nothing else in the charging system has to change - the regulator rectifier, flywheel and harness all stay as they are.
The extra output is welcome on a KLR that has picked up heated grips, auxiliary lights or a satnav, where the standard stator runs out of headroom at low revs. The winding is copper rated to 200 degrees C over high-grade lamination material, installation is plug-and-play, and RMSTATOR include an extra connector for the main harness side because that half of the plug is so often melted, corroded or defective by the time the stator itself gives up. Every unit is tested before shipping.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the higher output need any other changes?
No. It works with all other OEM components, so the standard regulator rectifier, flywheel, harness and battery all stay in place. Installation is plug-and-play on the 2011-2018 KLR 650.
What is included in the box?
The generator stator, the connectors including the opposite main harness side connector, and a rubber grommet.
How do I know the old stator has failed?
With the engine off, measure between each pair of the three output wires: each pair should read about 1 ohm, allowing 20 percent either way. Then check from any output wire to earth, which must read O.L, an open line. Continuity to earth means the winding has shorted. A battery that keeps going flat, charging voltage that will not rise above resting voltage at the terminals, and a burnt smell at the stator plug are the everyday symptoms on a KLR.
Why is a spare connector supplied?
The main harness half of the stator plug is often melted, corroded or defective by the time the stator is changed, so RMSTATOR supply an extra connector for that side. Replacing both halves together removes the high-resistance joint that helped cook the original stator in the first place.
