This is a brand new aftermarket generator stator, built as a direct replacement for the original unit fitted to the Kawasaki KLX 250 S and KLX 250 SF. It is a plug-and-play, direct fit assembly that mounts in the original position and uses the original connectors, so no modification of the wiring loom is required.
The core uses the highest grade lamination materials and the windings are the highest grade copper, resistant to 200 degrees Celsius. Use a multimeter and compare against the figures in the specification table. Across the alternator windings, yellow to yellow, you should read 0.9 ohms +/-20%. Across the pick-up, blue/white to green/white, you should read 244 ohms +/-20%. Readings well outside those values, an open circuit, or continuity between any winding wire and the stator core indicate a failed unit.
Why does this assembly have so many wires?
The KLX 250 stator plate carries the three-phase alternator windings, the pick-up pulsar coil and the additional coils that feed the machine's other circuits. That is why this unit has 13 wires, 13 pins and 4 separate plugs, with two different grommet-to-plug lead lengths of 505 mm and 810 mm.
