This is a brand new aftermarket generator stator for the Kawasaki Ninja 1000 built from 2011 to 2016 and the Kawasaki Z 1000 built from 2010 to 2016. It is a direct replacement for the original unit and is plug-and-play, so it fits the original position and mates with the factory loom without cutting, splicing or modification. Part number RMS010-101502.
The core is built from the highest grade lamination materials and wound with the highest grade copper, rated to resist 200 degrees Celsius. The connector and rubber grommet are supplied fitted, and the matching opposite connector for the main harness side is also in the box - the original harness-side connector is often found melted, corroded or defective, and is a frequent cause of repeat charging faults. Will this fit without modification?
Yes. It is a direct, plug-and-play replacement for the original stator. It uses the original mounting points and the supplied connector mates with the factory loom, so there is no cutting, splicing or rewiring. Check the OEM number on your original unit against 21003-0096 or 21003-0122 before ordering.
What is included in the box?
The stator with its connector and rubber grommet already fitted, plus the opposite connector for the main harness side. That second connector is included because the original is frequently melted or corroded and causes recurring electrical problems even after a new stator is fitted.
How do I tell whether my old stator has failed?
Look for a battery that will not stay charged, dimming lights, or a charging voltage that does not climb with engine speed. With a multimeter, resistance between any two of the three black wires should be approximately 0.6 ohms with a 20 percent tolerance. An open circuit, a short, a figure well outside that range, or continuity between a black wire and the stator body all indicate a failed stator.
Do the Ninja 1000 and Z 1000 use the same part?
Yes, they share this stator, but the coverage years differ slightly: the Ninja 1000 is covered from 2011 to 2016 and the Z 1000 from 2010 to 2016. Both are cross referenced to the same two Kawasaki OEM numbers listed above.
