This is a brand new aftermarket generator stator, built as a direct replacement to your original unit on the Kawasaki 650 parallel twin family: ER-6N, Ninja 650, Versys 650, Vulcan S and Z 650. It is a plug-and-play, direct fit part with easy installation, supplied with its connector and rubber grommet so it mates with the standard harness exactly as the original did. No splicing, no re-pinning and no modification to the loom are required.
The stator is built on the highest grade lamination materials and wound with the highest grade copper windings, resistant to 200 degrees Celsius. Heat is what kills a charging coil, and on a liquid-cooled twin that spends its life in traffic the stator carries a constant thermal load, so the insulation rating is the single most important thing about a replacement. Every unit is tested before it is shipped. Symptoms that usually point to a failed stator on these bikes include a battery that will not stay charged, a charging voltage at the battery that stays at or below resting voltage with the engine running, warning lights that flicker with engine speed, or an engine that cuts out once the battery has drained.

Does this stator need any modification to fit?
No. It is a plug-and-play, direct fit replacement for the original unit, supplied with the correct three-pin connector and rubber grommet, so it goes back into the standard wiring without alteration.
What is included in the box?
The generator stator, the connector and the rubber grommet. Every unit is tested before it is shipped.
How do I tell whether my original stator has failed?
Unplug the stator and measure between each pair of the three black wires: every pair should read about 0.5 ohms, plus or minus 20 per cent. Then check each wire against the stator body or engine case, which should read open circuit. A shorted winding, an open circuit or a reading well outside 0.5 ohms means the stator has failed.

Yes. Kawasaki uses the same 650 parallel twin engine across the ER-6N, Ninja 650, Versys 650, Vulcan S and Z 650, so the same charging stator serves all of them across the 2012 to 2025 coverage span. Kawasaki did revise the part number during that run, so check yours against 21003-0118, 21003-0153, 21003-0164 or 21003-0206.
