This is a brand new aftermarket generator stator supplied as a direct replacement for the original charging unit on the Kawasaki VN 900 Vulcan. It is a plug-and-play, direct fit assembly built to the original 44 mm interior diameter, 115 mm exterior diameter and 16 mm thickness, with the original 115 mm lead to the grommet and the two short plug runs of 50 mm and 70 mm, so it mounts in the standard stator cover and both connectors reach their original positions without any modification to the loom.
The stator is built on highest grade lamination materials and wound with highest grade copper windings that are resistant to 200 degrees Celsius. A ten-wire, ten-pin layout across two plugs means the charging output and the remaining circuits are all carried on one plate, and each unit is checked so that the alternator legs read 0.4 ohms +/- 20% white to white before it leaves the factory. The connector and rubber grommet are included, so the case seals correctly when the new unit goes in.

How do I tell that my original stator has failed?
Disconnect the plugs and measure between the white alternator wires. Each pair should read 0.4 ohms +/- 20%. An open circuit, a reading well outside that band, or any continuity between a winding and the stator core or engine case confirms the unit has failed. A battery that keeps going flat and a charging voltage that will not lift above resting battery voltage at raised revs point to the same fault.
Why does this stator have ten wires?
The VN 900 Vulcan runs its charging output and the remaining engine-side circuits from the same stator plate, split across two plugs with ten pins in total. This replacement is built to the same layout, with a 50 mm run to the first plug and a 70 mm run to the second, so the connectors land exactly where the originals did.
