Any winding that is open circuit, shorted to earth or well outside those values indicates a failed stator. A battery that will not stay charged while the engine is running is the usual warning sign.
Why does the kit include a second connector?
The main harness side of the plug often suffers heat damage or corrosion alongside the stator itself. Replacing it at the same time removes a common cause of repeat charging faults.
