This is a brand new aftermarket generator stator, built as a direct replacement for the original unit fitted to the Suzuki GSXR 1000. It is a plug-and-play, direct fit part that mounts in the original position and plugs into the original three-pin connector, so no modification of the wiring loom is required.
The core is built from the highest grade lamination materials and wound with the highest grade copper, resistant to 200 degrees Celsius - an important margin on a litre sportsbike where the stator sits in a hot, hard-working charging system. The connector and rubber grommet are included, and we also supply the opposite connector for the main harness side, because the original is frequently found melted, corroded or defective and is a major cause of repeat electrical issues. Will this fit without modification?
Yes. It is a plug-and-play, direct fit replacement for the original stator on the GSXR 1000, 2012-2016. It uses the original mounting and the original 3-pin plug, so no cutting or splicing is needed. Please confirm the OEM number on your original unit before ordering.
What is included in the box?
You receive the stator with the connector and rubber grommet fitted, plus the opposite connector for the main harness side. That second connector is included because the original often melts or corrodes and causes recurring charging problems even after the stator itself has been replaced.
How do I tell if my old stator has failed?
Unplug the stator and measure resistance between each pair of the three white wires. Each pair should read 0.4 ohms +/-20%. Then check between any white wire and the engine case - there should be no continuity. An open circuit, a badly unbalanced reading between pairs, or a short to earth all indicate a failed stator.
How long are the leads on this stator?
The leads run 80 mm from the stator body to the rubber grommet, then a further 160 mm from the grommet to the plug. These are the original lengths, so the connector reaches its factory position on the loom.
