This is a brand new aftermarket generator stator for the Suzuki SV 650 and V-Strom 650, supplied complete with the pickup pulsar coil. The stator produces the three-phase alternating current that the regulator-rectifier turns into charging voltage for the battery, while the pickup coil provides the timing signal the ignition system needs to fire. Because both are mounted together behind the same cover on these engines, replacing them as one assembly saves splitting the case twice.
The unit is a plug-and-play, direct fit replacement for the original: same lamination dimensions, same five-wire output, same two plugs, so nothing in the loom has to be cut or spliced. It uses the highest grade lamination materials and the highest grade copper winding, rated to resist 200 degrees Celsius, which matters on a compact V-twin where the alternator cavity runs hot. Does anything need modifying to fit it?
No. This is a plug-and-play, direct fit replacement. The lamination dimensions, the five-wire output and both plugs match the original, so it mounts in the standard position and connects to the existing harness without cutting or splicing.
What is included in the box?

How do I confirm my old stator has failed?
With the plugs disconnected, measure between each pair of black alternator wires - each reading should be around 0.5 ohms, within about 20 per cent. Then measure the pickup coil between the green and white wires, which should read about 194 ohms. An open circuit, a wildly different reading, or continuity from any output wire to the engine casing all indicate a failed unit.
Do I get the pickup coil as well, or just the stator?
The pickup pulsar coil is included on this assembly. That is useful on the SV 650 and V-Strom 650 because both components sit under the same cover, so a single job replaces the charging winding and the ignition timing sensor together.
