This is a brand new aftermarket generator stator, built as a direct replacement for the original charging unit fitted to the Yamaha FZ6 R and XJ 600, sold as the FZ6R, XJ600 and XJ6, from 2009 to 2017. It is a plug-and-play, direct fit part, so the standard loom does not need to be cut, spliced or modified in order to install it.
The unit is an eighteen-pole stator wound with the highest grade of copper winding, rated to resist 200 degrees Celsius, on the highest grade of lamination materials. Three white output wires run to a single three-pin plug, matching the original arrangement. The stator is supplied with its connector and rubber grommet already fitted, and an additional opposite connector for the main harness side is included in the box, since these connectors commonly suffer from melting and corrosion and are best renewed at the same time as the stator itself.

How can I confirm my old stator has failed?
Unplug the three-pin connector and measure between each pair of white wires. Each pair should read about 0.4 ohms, within roughly 20%. An open circuit between any pair, or continuity from a white wire to the stator body, means the winding has gone. A battery that keeps going flat despite a good regulator rectifier and a healthy battery is the usual complaint.
Why does the kit include a spare connector?
The harness-side half of the stator plug is a known weak point on these models, as it is often melted or corroded. Fitting the supplied opposite connector at the same time restores a clean, low-resistance joint and helps protect the new stator.
