Generator Stator for Yamaha V Star 650
V Star 650 Custom, Silverado, Classic and Midnight Custom, 2004-2016
This is a brand new aftermarket generator stator supplied as a direct replacement for the original unit fitted to the Yamaha V Star 650 Custom, Silverado, Classic and Midnight Custom from 2004 through to 2016. It is a plug-and-play, direct fit assembly with easy installation: the mounting pattern, the wire lengths and the connector all match the factory part, so nothing on the bike needs to be cut, drilled or rewired.
The stator is built on the highest grade lamination materials and wound with the highest grade copper, insulated to resist 200 degrees Celsius. The pickup pulsar coil is supplied with the assembly, so both the charging winding and the ignition trigger are renewed in one go. An extra connector for the main harness side is included as well, because the original connector on a bike of this age is very often melted, corroded or otherwise defective by the time the stator fails. All products shipped are tested.

Will this fit without modification?
Yes. It is a direct fit, plug-and-play replacement for the original Yamaha unit. The stator bolts to the same points behind the left-hand cover and the loom plugs straight in, so no cutting, splicing or drilling is required.
What is included?
The generator stator, the pickup pulsar coil, the connector with both plugs, a rubber grommet, and an extra connector for the main harness side. That spare connector lets you renew the plug on the bike at the same time, which is worth doing whenever the old one shows heat damage or green corrosion.
How do I confirm my stator has failed?
Look for a battery that will not hold charge, headlight brightness that drops at idle, or a bike that will not restart once warm. Test with a multimeter across the three white leads, which should read about 0.4 ohms between any pair, and across the pickup white to black, which should read about 200 ohms - both within plus or minus 20 per cent. Any open circuit, or continuity from a winding to the stator body, means it needs replacing.
Does it cover the Midnight Custom as well as the Classic?
