Generator Stator for Yamaha WaveRunner - RM01518
Yamaha WaveRunner XL 1200, XLT 1200, GP 1200 R and XR 1800 - 1999-2005
A brand new aftermarket generator stator, supplied as a direct replacement to the original unit on the Yamaha WaveRunner XL 1200, XLT 1200 and GP 1200 R and the XR 1800 sport boat. The stator is the fixed set of windings inside the flywheel housing that generates the electrical output for the whole craft - charging, ignition and everything downstream of it. When the windings break down, the symptoms range from a battery that will not hold charge to a misfire or a complete no-spark condition, and on a personal watercraft the heat and vibration around the engine mean stators are a well known wear item.
This unit is wound with the highest grade copper windings, resistant to 200 degrees Celsius, on the highest grade lamination materials, and is supplied complete with the pickup pulsar coil, the connector and the rubber grommet so the whole assembly can be replaced in one go. RMStator also includes the opposite connector for the main harness side, because that half of the plug is often melted, corroded or defective by the time the stator fails and is a major cause of repetitive electrical issues - fitting a fresh stator into a burnt connector simply repeats the fault. Installation is plug-and-play, direct fit and easy, with no modification required. All products shipped are tested.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it fit without modification?
Yes. It is a plug-and-play, direct fit replacement for the original stator, using the same single five pin plug and the same 103 mm outer and 42 mm inner diameters, so no drilling, cutting or rewiring is required. Confirm your original part number is 66V-85510-00-00 before ordering.
What is included in the box?
The generator stator assembly, the pickup pulsar coil, the connector on the stator side, the opposite connector for the main harness side, and the rubber grommet. That covers everything needed to renew the assembly rather than transferring worn parts across from the old unit.
How can I tell the old stator has failed?
A battery that will not stay charged, a weak or absent spark, a craft that cuts out or refuses to start, and visible discolouration or a burnt smell around the windings all point to a failed stator. The definitive check is with a multimeter: the alternator windings should read about 0.9 ohms white to white and the pickup about 506 ohms yellow/red to black/red, both within 20 per cent. A reading that is open circuit, shorted or well outside those figures confirms the fault.
Why is a second connector supplied?
The plug on the main harness side takes the same heat and moisture as the stator, and by the time the stator has failed that connector is often melted, corroded or otherwise defective. It is a major cause of repeated electrical problems, so the matching harness side connector is included and should be renewed at the same time.
