This is a brand new aftermarket generator stator supplied as a direct replacement for the original charging unit on the Yamaha XVS 950 V-Star and the V-Star Tourer 950. It is a plug-and-play, direct fit assembly built to the original dimensions and wire lengths, so it drops into the existing stator cover, follows the original grommet route and connects to the standard loom without any modification.
The unit is built on highest grade lamination materials and wound with highest grade copper windings that are resistant to 200 degrees Celsius, which is the single biggest factor in how long a replacement stator survives on an air-cooled twin. The pick-up pulsar coil is supplied already fitted to the plate, and both the connector and the rubber grommet are included. Every unit is tested before it is shipped.

Does fitting this require any modification?
No. It is a direct fit, plug-and-play replacement built to the original dimensions of 58 mm interior diameter, 130 mm exterior diameter and 22 mm thickness, with the original wire lengths and plugs. It bolts into the standard stator cover and connects to the untouched loom.
What is included in the box?
The stator with the pick-up pulsar coil already fitted, the connector and the rubber grommet. Every unit is tested before it leaves the factory.
How do I confirm my original stator has failed?
Measure the alternator windings white to white, which should read 0.5 ohms +/- 20%, and the pick-up coil white to grey, which should read 296 ohms +/- 20%. An open circuit, a badly out of range reading, or continuity between any winding and the stator core confirms a failed stator. Charging voltage that will not rise above battery voltage at raised revs points the same way.
Why does this stator use two grommets?
The XVS 950 loom exits the engine case through one grommet and passes a second grommet further along the frame run. This assembly is built to match, with 135 mm from the stator to the first grommet and then a 1050 mm run to the alternator plug and a 295 mm run to the pick-up coil plug, so the harness sits exactly where the original did.
