This is a brand new aftermarket stator built to replace the original charging coil on a wide group of Kawasaki, Suzuki and Honda machines. The design is shared across the Kawasaki VN 1500 Vulcan and Ninja ZX-9R, the Suzuki Savage LS 650 and Boulevard S40, and the Honda XR 650 L, which is why one part covers models built between 1986 and 2024.
The original connector and grommet are reinstalled onto this stator during fitting. Once they are transferred across, the unit is plug-and-play, a direct fit, and very easy to install with no modification to the loom. Higher grade electrical components are used throughout, with the highest grade of copper winding, resistant to 200 degrees Celsius. An additional connector for the main harness side is supplied in the box, because those connectors are often found melted, corroded or defective on a machine that has suffered a charging failure. Every unit is tested before it is shipped.

Does this need any modification to fit?
No. Reinstall the original connector and grommet onto the new stator and it becomes a plug-and-play, direct fit unit. No cutting or splicing of the loom is needed.
What is included in the box?
The stator unit with its integrated connector, an additional connector for the main harness side, and the grommet.
How can I tell my old stator has failed?
With a multimeter, measure the resistance between each pair of the three stator wires. Each pair should read approximately 0.4 ohms, within plus or minus 20 percent. Any leg reading open circuit, or reading short to the engine case, means the winding has failed. A battery that goes flat while riding is the common symptom.
Why is a second connector supplied?
The connector on the main harness side is often melted, corroded or defective by the time a stator fails, because heat and resistance at that joint are frequently what caused the problem. Replacing both halves at the same time avoids repeating the fault.
