Kawasaki KLF 300 Bayou, 1986-1987 - direct replacement, connector and grommet fitted
This is a brand new aftermarket generator stator for the Kawasaki KLF 300 Bayou, covering the 1986 and 1987 model years. It is a direct replacement for your original unit - plug-and-play, direct fit and easy to install, with no modification needed to the loom or the engine cases. The core uses the highest grade lamination materials and the windings are the highest grade copper, rated to resist 200 degrees Celsius, which is the point at which cheaper rewound units usually break down.
The connector and the rubber grommet are supplied already fitted to the harness, so the unit goes straight in. What is included?

How do I tell whether my old stator has failed?
Typical symptoms are a battery that goes flat in normal use, headlights that dim or brighten with engine speed, or a machine that will only run for as long as the battery holds out. Test with a multimeter against the figures in the specification table: between each of the three White wires you should read about 0.4 ohms plus or minus 20 per cent. An open circuit, a short between windings, or continuity from a White wire to the stator body all indicate a failed unit.
Why is a second connector supplied?
On a KLF 300 of this age the harness-side plug has usually taken the same heat as the stator itself. Fitting a new stator into a melted or corroded connector reintroduces the resistance that caused the problem, so the matching harness-side connector is included to let you replace both sides together.
