Generator Stator for Yamaha V-Max 1200 & Venture Royale 1300
Yamaha V-Max 1200 1985-2007 and Venture Royale 1300 1990-1993 - RMSTATOR part RM01051
This is a brand new aftermarket generator stator for the Yamaha V-Max 1200 and the Venture Royale 1300. It is built on the highest grade of lamination materials with the highest grade of copper winding, resistant to 200 degrees Celsius, which is the specification that matters most on these bikes - the original stators are well known for cooking their winding insulation and shorting to the laminations.
The unit is a three-wire stator measuring 114 mm on the outside diameter, 53 mm on the inside and 27 mm thick, reading 0.4 ohms with a 20 per cent tolerance between each pair of yellow wires. Installation is plug-and-play once the original grommet and the new connector are fitted. The opposite connector for the main harness side is included as standard, because on a bike of this age those plugs are very often melted, corroded or otherwise defective by the time the stator itself gives up. All products are tested before shipment.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will this fit without modification?
Yes, it is a direct replacement. The original grommet is reinstalled and the new connector fitted, after which it is plug-and-play in the original position. Yamaha used several part numbers across these models, so check the number on your original stator against the cross reference table before ordering.
What is included?
The stator unit and the opposite connector for the main harness side. The original grommet is reused to seal the lead where it passes through the case.
How do I know my old stator has failed?
On a V-Max the usual sequence is a battery that will not stay charged, headlights that dim and do not recover with revs, and a burnt smell around the alternator plug. Test the stator cold: between each pair of yellow wires you should read about 0.4 ohms with a 20 per cent tolerance, and no yellow wire should show continuity to the engine case. Continuity to ground means the winding insulation has broken down.
Why does the harness-side connector matter so much on these bikes?
The three-wire alternator plug carries the entire charging output and is a known failure point on the V-Max and Venture. Once it has overheated it runs at high resistance, generates more heat, and will damage a new stator's connector in short order. The correct opposite connector is supplied so it can be replaced at the same time.
