MOSFET Regulator Rectifier for Harley-Davidson Dyna Glide
Dyna Glide, Dyna Super Glide and Dyna Wide Glide 1450 - 2004-2005 - Part RM30929
This is a brand new MOSFET voltage regulator rectifier for the 2004-2005 Harley-Davidson Dyna family, covering the Dyna Glide, the Dyna Super Glide and the Dyna Wide Glide 1450. It is supplied under RMSTATOR part number RM30929 and is a direct replacement for the original regulator, using the same two plugs, five pins and five wires so it plugs straight into the standard loom.
MOSFET technology runs cooler than the traditional shunt style regulator fitted as original equipment, and heat is what kills most OEM regulators. Switching the stator coils on and off rather than dumping surplus energy as heat takes load off the stator, steadies the charge going into the battery and gives back a little engine power and fuel economy. This unit also has overheat protection - instead of burning out it switches off, cools and resumes.
Key Features

Frequently Asked Questions
Will it fit without modification?
Yes. RM30929 is a direct, plug and play replacement for the original regulator on the listed 2004-2005 Dyna models. It carries the same two plugs, five pins and five wires, and the fixing holes are 80 mm apart centre to centre, so no cutting, splicing or re-pinning of the loom is needed.
What is included?
One MOSFET voltage regulator rectifier, RMSTATOR part number RM30929. The original mounting bolts are reused; no additional parts are supplied with the unit.
How do I know my old regulator has failed?
The usual signs are a battery that goes flat overnight, a battery that boils or swells because it is being overcharged, lights that surge and dim with engine speed, and a regulator body that is far too hot to touch after a short run. With the engine running, a reading at the battery terminals well below 14 V or above 15 V points at the regulator rather than the stator.
What is the advantage of MOSFET over the original shunt regulator?
A shunt regulator burns off surplus stator output as heat, which is why the originals cook themselves. A MOSFET unit switches the stator coils in and out instead, so it runs cooler, puts less load on the stator, delivers a steadier charge and helps the battery hold its cold cranking capacity. Output here is regulated to 14.5 V plus or minus 0.5 V with a 50 A or 500 W maximum.
