Stator and Crankcase Cover Gasket Kit

Suzuki LTF 400 Eiger Manual and Arctic Cat 400 Manual 2002-2008 - RMSTATOR RM01015G

This is a brand new aftermarket stator and gasket kit for the Suzuki LTF 400 Eiger Manual and the Arctic Cat 400 Manual built between 2002 and 2008. It is a direct replacement for the original unit, so it is a plug-and-play, direct fit part that mounts in the standard stator housing and connects to the standard harness. Because a stator can only be reached by removing the crankcase cover, the correct crankcase cover gasket is supplied in the kit, along with a tube of dielectric grease for the connectors. That means the job can be completed in one go without a second trip for sealing parts.

The unit is wound with the highest grade of copper winding, insulated to resist 200 degrees Celsius, and built on the highest grade of lamination materials. Utility quads of this type work hard at low road speed under heavy load, which is exactly the condition in which the original winding varnish breaks down and a stator eventually shorts to earth. The pick-up pulsar coil is supplied on the assembly, so the ignition trigger is renewed at the same time as the charging windings rather than left in place as an unknown. The connector and the rubber grommet are also included so the harness can be sealed properly against water and mud on reassembly. Every unit is tested before it is shipped.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this fit without any modification?

Yes. It is a direct replacement for the original unit on the Suzuki LTF 400 Eiger Manual and the Arctic Cat 400 Manual from 2002 to 2008. Installation is plug-and-play and direct fit using the standard mounting points and the standard connectors, with no cutting or splicing needed.

What is included in the box?

You receive the stator, the crankcase cover gasket, the pick-up pulsar coil, the connector, the rubber grommet and a tube of dielectric grease.

How do I confirm the old stator has failed?

Use a multimeter and compare the readings with the specification table above. Between each White alternator wire you should see 0.4 ohms +/-20%. The pick-up coil should read 200 ohms +/-20% between Blue and Green, and the position sensor 0.2 ohms +/-20% between White and Yellow. Checking a White wire against engine earth should show O.L. on the display; if you get any reading at all there, the winding has shorted to the stator body and the unit needs replacing.

Why is the crankcase cover gasket supplied with it?

The stator sits behind the crankcase cover, so the cover has to come off to reach it. The original gasket is almost always damaged during removal and should not be reused. Supplying the correct gasket in the kit means the cover can be resealed properly on reassembly without sourcing it separately.
