Mosfet Regulator Rectifier RMS020-103783
Aprilia RSV4 1000 and RSV 1000 Tuono V4 - 2011 to 2017
This is a brand new MOSFET voltage rectifier regulator built to replace the OEM diode-style regulator fitted to the Aprilia RSV4 1000 and RSV 1000 Tuono V4. MOSFET technology switches the charging current far more efficiently than the older diode and SCR designs, which means the unit runs at noticeably cooler temperatures in service. Heat is the single biggest killer of motorcycle regulator rectifiers, so a cooler running unit is a longer lasting unit - and it also puts less thermal stress on the stator windings feeding it.
The regulator also carries built-in overheat protection. If the unit is pushed beyond its thermal limit it shuts itself down temporarily and recovers, rather than burning out permanently and leaving you stranded with a flat battery. It is a direct replacement for the original part: plug-and-play, direct fit, no assembly and no modification to the loom required. Higher grade electrical components are used throughout, the heat sink is improved over the original casting, and every unit is tested before it is shipped.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this need any modification to fit?
No. It is a direct replacement for the original unit - plug-and-play, direct fit, easy installation, with no assembly required. The mounting holes are 80 mm centre to centre and the unit uses 2 plugs with 7 pins, matching the original arrangement.
What is included?
The MOSFET regulator rectifier unit itself, with wire lengths of 150 mm and 400 mm and both connectors already fitted. Every unit is tested before it is shipped.
How do I know my old regulator has failed?
A healthy charging system should hold around 14.5 V at the battery with the engine running. A regulator that has failed typically shows a charging voltage that stays down at battery level, or one that climbs well above 15 V and starts boiling the battery. Discoloured or melted connectors and a unit that is too hot to touch after a short ride are also common signs.
What is the advantage of a MOSFET regulator over the original?
A MOSFET unit switches more efficiently than the OEM diode-style regulator, so it operates at cooler temperatures. It also has overheat protection built in: if it does exceed its thermal limit it shuts down temporarily rather than burning out permanently. The heat sink and charging capability are both improved over the original.
