MOSFET Regulator for Aprilia, Gilera, Malaguti and Piaggio
Scarabeo 500, Nexus 500, Centro 125 and X9 500, 2001-2018 - part number RMS020-104011
Stop burning your regulator rectifier. This is a brand new MOSFET voltage rectifier regulator for the Aprilia Scarabeo 500, Gilera Nexus 500, Malaguti Centro 125 and Piaggio X9 500 built between 2001 and 2018. It is time to update or replace the original with the advanced MOSFET type: it runs cooler than all OEM diode style regulators, and rather than burning up when it gets hot, this rectifier has overheat protection and will simply switch off for a while to cool down.
The unit is a direct replacement and installs plug-and-play. It measures 108 mm wide by 84 mm long and 41 mm high, with the two fixation holes 81 mm apart centre to centre so it uses the original mounting points. There are two plugs and seven wires, with wire lengths of 355 mm and 945 mm. It is built with higher grade electric components and an improved heat sink for better charging capability, and the manufacturer states the quality exceeds the OEM equipment. Charging voltage is a minimum of 14.5 V plus or minus 0.5 V, maximum charging current is rated at 50 A or 500 W, open circuit voltage stays below 15 V, and the operating range is -20 C to 85 C. The opposite connector for the main harness side is supplied with the unit.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it fit without modification?
Yes. This is a direct replacement with plug-and-play installation. The fixation holes are 81 mm apart centre to centre, matching the original mounting, and the two plugs match the original connections.
What is included?
The MOSFET regulator itself and the opposite connector for the main harness side, so the connector on the loom can be renewed at the same time as the regulator.
How do I know my old regulator has failed?
Check the charging voltage at the battery with the engine running - it should reach at least 14.5 V plus or minus 0.5 V. A battery that keeps going flat, a reading above the 15 V open circuit limit, or a regulator body and harness plug showing heat damage all point at the regulator.
Why change to a MOSFET regulator instead of another OEM style unit?
OEM diode style regulators shed surplus charge as heat, which is why they cook themselves and take the harness connector with them. A MOSFET unit runs cooler, and this one adds overheat protection that shuts it down temporarily to cool rather than letting it burn up.
