Mosfet Regulator Rectifier for Yamaha Waverunner - RMS020-102659
Yamaha Waverunner VXR, VXS, FX Cruiser, FZR, FZS 1800, SX 190, 240, AR 242 Limited and 212 SS X - 2008-2013
This is a brand new Mosfet voltage rectifier regulator built as a direct replacement for the original unit fitted to Yamaha Waverunner personal watercraft and sport boats. It is designed to replace OEM diode-style regulators, and it is a plug-and-play, direct fit part - no assembly, no rewiring and no modification to the loom is required. Every unit is tested before it is shipped.
Mosfet technology is the main advantage over the original diode-style design. A Mosfet regulator runs significantly cooler, which is the single biggest cause of premature regulator failure on watercraft, and this unit adds an enlarged heat sink plus overheat protection that temporarily shuts the regulator down rather than allowing it to burn out. Higher grade electrical components are used throughout, giving a minimum charging voltage of 14.5 V +/- 0.5 V and a maximum charging capability of 50 A / 500 W.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this need any modification to fit?
No. It is a plug-and-play direct fit replacement for the original unit, with 2 plugs, 5 pins and 5 wires, and no assembly is required. The fixation holes are 87 mm centre to centre so it mounts using the original hardware position.
What do I receive?
You receive one brand new Mosfet regulator rectifier with its 991 mm wiring, tested before dispatch. Fitting hardware and consumables are not included.
How do I know my old regulator has failed?
A healthy charging system holds at least 14.5 V +/- 0.5 V at the battery with the engine running. A reading that stays at battery voltage, or one that climbs well above 15 V, points to a failed regulator rectifier. A unit that is scorched, discoloured or too hot to touch after a short run is another common sign.
What is the advantage of Mosfet over the OEM diode type?
Mosfet units dissipate far less heat than diode-style regulators, so they run cooler under sustained load. This one also carries overheat protection that shuts the unit down temporarily rather than letting it burn out, and it is rated up to 50 A / 500 W with an open circuit voltage below 15 V.
