Mosfet Voltage Regulator Rectifier RM30430 for Mercury Outboard

30, 40, 50, 55, 60 and 90 - 3, 4 and 6 cylinder - 1969-2006

Brand new Mosfet voltage rectifier regulator for Mercury outboards. Stop burning your regulator rectifier - it is time to update or replace your voltage regulator with the advanced MOSFET type. It runs cooler than OEM diode style regulators and includes overheat protection, so instead of burning up it shuts off temporarily and cools down. It is a direct replacement to the original unit and installs plug-and-play, direct fit.

MOSFET regulation reduces the load on the stator, which the manufacturer describes as saving gas and returning more engine power, while delivering a regulated steady charge that extends battery life and cold cranking capacity. The unit has an improved heat sink, improved charging capabilities and a higher grade of electric components, and the quality exceeds the OEM equipment. All shipped products are tested. Note that no voltage regulator can work correctly with a bad or weak battery.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this fit without modification?

Yes. It is a direct replacement, plug-and-play and direct fit. It has six wires of 156 mm on six plugs with six pins, and the mounting holes are 65 mm apart centre to centre. Check your original unit against the cross reference table above before ordering.

What is included?

The Mosfet voltage regulator rectifier with its fitted wiring and plugs. All shipped products are tested.

How do I know my old regulator has failed?

Check the charge at the battery with the engine running: it should sit at 14.5 V +/- 0.5 V. Before installing the new unit, check the AC output of the stator, replace burned or corroded connectors, repair melted wiring and use hi-temp dielectric grease on all connectors. Also test the battery, because no voltage regulator can work correctly with a bad or weak battery.

What safety precautions apply on the boat?

There is a risk of electric shock, so disconnect the battery before servicing, and have the installation done by a qualified technician to avoid malfunction.
