Stator Pickup Coil 500 Ohms for Polaris 325
Polaris Trail Boss 325, Magnum 325 and Xpedition 325 - 2000-2002
A brand new pickup coil, also known as a pulsar coil or trigger coil, supplied so that you can repair your existing stator rather than replace the whole assembly. It is rated at 500 ohms and is made for the Polaris Trail Boss 325, Magnum 325 and Xpedition 325 built between 2000 and 2002. Coils like this are often no longer available from the original manufacturer, which is why we stock them as a separate service item. Our part number for this coil is RM00145.
The coil carries two wires, coloured white and white with a red tracer, with a wire length of 1135 mm and a bracket spacing of 35 mm centre to centre. Measured wire to wire, white to white/red reads 568 ohms with a tolerance of plus or minus 20 per cent, which is the figure to compare against when testing your original coil. Every unit is tested before it is shipped. All of our item photographs show the actual part - if you are in any doubt, compare them against your original coil before ordering.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does fitting this coil need any modification?
No. The coil matches the original in bracket spacing at 35 mm centre to centre and in wire count and colour, so it mounts in the standard position and wires back the same way. No drilling or rewiring is needed on the models listed above.
What is supplied?
The pickup coil itself, with its two wires already fitted at 1135 mm length. It is a service part for repairing an existing stator, so no stator plate or hardware is included.
How do I tell whether my old pickup coil has failed?
The usual signs are no spark at all, an engine that cranks but will not fire, or an intermittent misfire that worsens as the engine warms up. Measure the resistance across the two coil wires with a multimeter: a healthy unit reads close to 568 ohms with a tolerance of plus or minus 20 per cent. An open circuit reading, a short to earth, or a figure well outside that band means the coil has failed.
Do I have to replace the whole stator?
Not if only the pickup coil has failed. This part is sold precisely so the coil can be changed on its own, which is often the only route available because the coil is frequently no longer supplied separately by the original manufacturer.
